Our Story

About Our Bakery

Blackmarket Bakery launched with a simple vision - to create delight featuring real ingredients, classic technique and an irreverent sense of fun.  What began as a veritable one-woman show selling at farmers markets has grown into a small group of women-owned bakeries.  

Our hardy crew of Blackmarketeers creates scratch-made treats - from flaky scones and croissants to decadent cookies and cakes - to change with the seasons.  We brew local coffee and espresso, bake daily breads and pastries and whip up nostalgic desserts, providing a “conscious moment of indulgence” in San Diego and Orange Counties.  

And now we're so pleased to be baking for the South Oceanside community.  Find us at the Freeman Collective, on Vista Way & Freeman Street.
